

The Clerk of Court for the Supreme Court of New Mexico is appointed by the Court pursuant to Article VI, Section 9, of the New Mexico Constitution, and serves at the pleasure of the Court. The Office of the Clerk performs duties in support of the Court’s constitutional responsibilities as the highest Court in the State of New Mexico with superintending control over the entire NM Judiciary. The Supreme Court has had only eight Clerks of Court since statehood. Elizabeth A. Garcia is the current Clerk of Court who supervises a staff of seven Court employees in the Clerk’s Office who provide case management and administrative support to the Court and to the bench, bar, and public that it serves.
